"I heard the voice of Jesus say come unto me and rest; Lay down, thou weary one, lay down thy head upon my breast. I came to Jesus as I was, weary, worn, and sad. I found in Him a resting place, and He has made me glad."
Mozelle Davis Holloway, 74 of Lincolnton, Georgia was born on July 17, 1950, to Robert and Sarah J. Elam Davis and passed away on October 25, 2024, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Mozelle attended West Side High School in Lincolnton, Georgia, and entered into the work force thereafter. She spent over 40 years working in the food and customer service industry. In 1968, she married Henry Holloway Sr., and they remained married until his death in January of 1993. Of this union four children were born: Henry Jr., Michael, Marcia Michelle, and Shante Marie.
Mozelle’s legacy was rooted in serving God and His people. She accepted Christ and joined Parks Grove FBH Church in the 1970s, where she served faithfully and zealously in various capacities until her health failed. Everywhere she went, she offered others the love and acceptance of Christ. Even in the last days, she still held fast to her faith, professing the goodness of Jesus.
She remains known throughout the community and CSRA for her cooking and cheerful disposition. Whether it was cooking for the Red Devils, selling plates for the church, or to raise money for others in the community, she did it for the glory of God. She was a true servant leader.
Mozelle was proceeded in death by her daughter Shante Marie Holloway; her husband Henry Holloway Sr; her parents, Robert and Sarah J. Elam Davis; and her siblings, Robbie Mae Leverett, Ida Lee Gartrell, and Alex Roger Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Henry (Tye) Holloway Jr., Michael Holloway, and Marcia Michelle Holloway; her siblings: Lelia Parks, Idell Davis, Mattie (Albert) Ware, Sarah Ellen Davis, Billy (Geraldine) Davis, and Willie Jones; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
