Lincolnton

"The angels came and took me away, don’t cry for me, smile, one day I will unite again with you”

On November 15, 1964, in Lincoln County, GA, a bouncing baby boy was born to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lee (Essie Starks) Elam, Jr., named Mitchell Elam. On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Piedmont-Augusta Hospital in Augusta, GA, Mitchell Elam answered his call to eternity.

Mitchell was educated in the Lincoln County School System and graduated with the class of 1982. Mitchell, labored faithfully in the Masonry field. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and sitting under the tree with his family friends. Most of all he enjoyed life to it’s fullest.

Preceding him in death was, his father, Walter Lee Elam, Sr.

He leaves to cherish many precious memories, his loving mother, Essie Starks of the home; four devoted sisters, Delois (Henry) Brown, Patsy Elam, Jackie (Sylvester) Harris, all of Lincolnton, GA and Lee Elam of Atlanta, GA; four brothers, Walter Lee (Maggie) Elam, III of Fayetteville, NC, Thomas (Debra) Elam of Washington, GA, Willie (Amelia) Elam of Lincolnton, GA, and Michael Elam of Washington, GA; an aunt, Mary Richard of FL; a special great niece, Kadence Elam and great nephews, Christian Elam and Camden Elam all of the home; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to mourn his passing.
