Luneil Davis, affectionately known as "Mutt," has departed this earthly realm at the age of 96. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends at her daughter Carol Norman's residence in Lincolnton, Georgia, on November 27, 2023.
Born on November 8, 1927, in Lincolnton, Georgia, Luneil Davis was a remarkable woman who lived a life dedicated to love and compassion. Educated in the church and public schools of Lincoln County, she grew up with strong roots and a deep connection to her community. She accepted Christ as her personal savior and united with Pleasant Grove CME Church.
Luneil embarked on a fulfilling career as a chef, leaving an indelible mark on the culinary world. She spent her years employed as a chef at the Home Cafe and retired from Reed's Chicken Poultry.
Though she had many accomplishments in her professional life, Luneil's greatest role was that of a nurturing mother. She devoted herself to raising not only her own children but also played an integral part in the lives of other children within her community. Her kindness and welcoming nature made everyone feel loved and cared for in her presence.
In her free time, Luneil enjoyed indulging in various hobbies and interests. Cooking brought her immense joy, and she took pleasure in preparing meals for her loved ones. Alongside cooking, fishing allowed her to connect with nature and find tranquility. But above all else, spending time with her children and grandchildren brought warmth to Luneil's heart. The moments shared with family were cherished dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, her children Jessie, Leroy, Willie Jean, John Lester, Roslyn, Ethleen, and Kenneth Lee as well as her granddaughter Bre.
Luneil Davis leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to be treasured by all who knew her. She is survived by three daughters, Lois Reid and Tony Harris, Mary Linda Perrin, Carol (Marvin) Norman all of Lincolnton, GA; a son, Carl Henderson of Lincolnton, GA; two step-children, Della Mae Morgan, and William Davis; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her presence will be greatly missed but forever remembered.
Luneil's passing has left a void in the hearts of her loved ones and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kind spirit and unwavering love have touched countless lives. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us cherish the memories we shared with her and carry forward the lessons she imparted upon us.
May Luneil Davis's soul find eternal peace as she embarks on her next great adventure beyond this mortal realm.
