Leroy House, a man who dedicated his life to the construction industry, passed away on January 3, 2024 at Piedmont Regional Midtown Hospital. He was born on January 29, 1955, in Lincolnton, GA to the proud parents Josie Hawes House and Isaiah Partlow. Leroy was a respectful and dependable individual who touched the lives of many.

Leroy was an accomplished painter and flooring specialist within the construction field. His talents were highly regarded, and he worked diligently throughout his career. His commitment to his craft earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike.

In addition to his professional achievements, Leroy valued education and pursued it with determination. He graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1973 and went on to complete some college courses. This thirst for knowledge reflected his dedication to personal growth and learning.

Outside of work and studies, Leroy found joy in a variety of hobbies and interests. He had a love for horseback riding, motorcycle riding, swimming, and above all else, cherishing precious moments with his family. Family was truly at the center of Leroy's heart, creating countless memories together that will be cherished forever.

Leroy's proudest accomplishment in life was accepting Jesus Christ as his personal savior and joining True Fellowship Pentecostal Church under the compassionate leadership of Bishop James Ware. Embracing faith brought him solace in times of hardship and provided him guidance throughout his journey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Antonio Jerome Barber, and two grandchildren, D’Aeryis Barber, and D’Aijah Raglin. Leroy House is survived by his loving wife, Evonne W. House, of the home who stood by his side throughout their journey together. He leaves behind three children: Zavyion Leroy (Shemekia) House of Houston, TX, Fallon Dominque Barber of Dayton, OH, and Denise House of Lincolnton, GA; and 6 stepchildren.  His grandchildren include Chole House, Dalyn Barber, Varonica Tutt, and Jaylen Hunter. Additionally, Leroy was blessed with a great-grandchild named Kenzely Hunter.

Leroy also leaves behind siblings Richard (Cynthia) Bussey of Charlotte, NC, Thomas Bussey, and Bobby (Edna) Hawes both of Dayton, OH. During his lifetime, he developed strong bonds with extended family members including Stella Hawes Nunnally and Lena (Arthur) Thomas who served as nurturing aunts. He also leaves behind a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were all touched by his presence.

 



Leroy House's life was one of dedication, love for family, and commitment to his faith. He will be remembered fondly for his skills as a painter and flooring expert, as well as for his respectful and dependable nature. Though he may be gone, Leroy's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
