Jessie Lee Zellars, affectionately known as "Bruh," embarked on the final journey of his life on January 22, 2025, at Doctors Hospital. Born on September 20, 1957, in Lincolnton, Georgia, Jessie was a cherished son of Roy Lee Zellars and Lessie Maude Freeman Zellars Huff. His legacy, characterized by an ardent love for the outdoors and an admirable talent for building, will surely echo in the hearts of many.
A man devoted to his faith, Jessie proudly joined Parks Grove FBH Church. His loving nature left a lasting impression on not only his family but also his friends and neighbors.
Preceding him in death were his treasured daughter, Shaunuette Phelps, alongside his siblings Peggy Felts, Patsy Tanksley, Lessie Ivey, Robert Zellars, Frank Zellars, Floyd Zellars, Sr., Ralph Zellars, and Gloria R. Jones leaving a void that will be profoundly felt by those who knew and loved him.
A dedicated family man, Jessie is survived by his beloved wife, Tyronica Zellars, with whom he built a life filled with laughter and love. He was a proud father to sons Jessie Emmanuel (Cassandra) Zellars of Washington, GA, Quenvail “Trey” Zellars of NC, and Terrence Sebastian (Miranda) Tutt of Elberton, GA, nurturing them with the same devotion he mirrored in all aspects of his life. His warm legacy extends within his family to his brothers, George Randy Zellars, Robert Zellars both of Lincolnton, GA, and Jessie (Sharon) Huff of Washington, GA, and his sisters, Lillie Zellars of Lincolnton, GA, Angie Zellars, and Kisher Davis both Washington, GA, all of whom carry forth the memories of their brother's kindness.
Jessie's heart also embraced the abundant joy of grandparenthood, as he adored his grandchildren—Malachi, Jessiah, Legend, Kimora, Terraji, Terrence, Jr., Nemya, and Bailey—who will hold onto the lessons and love he imparted throughout their lives. Among his family, Jessie found unparalleled support and companionship, particularly with his mother-in-law, Cathy (Haymus) Harris, his in-laws, Sally Zellars, Ernestine Zellars, Lamont (Tracy) Jones, Lanedra Jones, and Sanchez Jones, aunts, Evelyn Mims, Nanleen Freeman, and Ruth Freeman, and uncle, Franklin (Christine) Freeman, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins emphasizing the deep bonds that enriched his familial tapestry.
In the hearts of those who remain, Jessie Lee Zellars will forever be remembered not just as a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, but as a steadfast friend who embraced life with openness and passion. May his spirit soar free among the very woods he cherished and the structures he lovingly created.
