MR. JERRY DERRICO, age 53, of Washington, GA formerly of Crawfordville, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at his sister's residence in Crawfordville, GA.
Jerry Derrico was born on March 25, 1971, in Washington, Georgia to the late Lenora Derrico. He was the youngest of ten children. He passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at his sister’s residence in Taliaferro County.
Jerry was educated in the Greene-Taliaferro County Public Schools. He was a dedicated maintenance technician at Pruitt Health in Washington, GA for the past 8 years. Jerry accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and joined the Greenwood Baptist Church in Norwood, GA. Jerry was known for his love of sports, especially the Georgia Bulldogs, spending time with his family, and enjoying fishing in his free time.
Jerry was surrounded by immense love from his family members. He is now reunited in spirit with his mother, Lenora Derrico and siblings, James Derrico, Wadie Derrico, Darlene Derrico, Mary Louise Derrico, and Bernice Berry.
Jerry's vibrant personality shone through in every aspect of his life. He was described as the life of the party, a loving husband to Leona Dawkins-Derrico, and a caring father to his stepchildren, Milton James of Dallas, TX and Trey (Emily) James of Washington, GA. His step-grandchild, Treasure Dawson, held a special place in his heart.
His presence will be deeply missed by his sisters, Mary Ivey Burley of Norwood, GA, and Idonia Derricott of Crawfordville, GA, as well as his brothers, Grady (Martha) Derrico of Augusta, GA and Edward C. Derrico, Sr. of Sharon, GA; In addition to his wife, stepchildren and siblings, Jerry is survived by his father-in-law, Giles Dawkins of Crawfordville, GA, and sister-in-law, Leila R. Edgerson of Augusta, GA. Jerry's untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In celebrating Jerry's life, let us remember the joy he brought to those around him and the lasting memories he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
