Iris Mae Norman was born May 28, 1941 in Lincoln County, GA to the late Mr. and Mrs. John (Leatha Wynn) Blackmon. She entered into rest on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Lake Crossing Health Center in Appling, GA.

At an early age, Iris Mae accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and joined the New Tabernacle Baptist Church. She attended the Lincoln County Training School.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend  that cared about everyone no matter who it was. She would go out of her way to help everyone.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents,  a son, Ricky Noran, two brothers, Willie James Blackmon and John West Blackmon, a sister, Geneva Smith, and grandson, Ricco Norman.

She leaves to cherish her memories, seven daughters, Carol Norman of Athens, GA, Gloria (James) Hardman, Kathy Norman, Elizabeth (James) Heath, Barbara Norman, all of Lincolnton, GA, Regina Norman of Augusta, GA, and Cindy Norman of Lexington, NC; two sons, Joe Lee (Gi-Gi) Norman of Lincolnton, GA and Jessie Norman of Lexington, NC; five sisters, Emma Ruth Dooley, Glenda McCord, Mary Andrews, Idell Andrews, and Linda Smith all of Lincolnton, GA; four brothers, Darrel Gladman, Harvey Lee Freeman, Bobby Freeman all of Lincolnton, GA, and Daniel Blackmon of Elberton, GA; four sisters-in-law, Fay Norman, Ella Norman both of Charlotte, NC, Minnie Pearl Norman of Lincolnton, GA, and Betty Norman of Augusta, GA; an aunt, Nancy Norman Hawes of Lincolnton, GA; 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
