She was an active member of the Board of Missionaries. She attended school  in the Lincoln County School System.

Betty retired after working over 40 years at Fort Gordon as the head cook.  Betty was a very sweet and caring person with a beautiful personality. She loved flowers and gardening and often shared the fruits of her labors with friends and neighbors.
